Make the best of your shared business space: Window Graphics

Window graphics are not only a great way to show off your business, it is a necessity for business that reside in a shared space.  Often, within a shared office building, there are limits to the type of signage a business can have.  Often, it is limited to a directory by the entrance.  Window graphics are typically allowed just about anywhere, and give you the opportunity to let your customers know where you are in a clean, professional manner.  A window graphic can be as simple as just putting up the business name in text, or it can show the business logo as well to get a little more impact.  In either case,  you will be advertising to anyone walking down the hall, and making it much easier for your customers to know they are in the correct location.

When deciding what to put on your window, take the following into consideration:

  • Clear windows.  For clear windows, you’ll want to consider the background inside the office that is seen by your customers.  If it is a light color, you may be able to get away with using darker vinyl.  If it is dark inside, white vinyl would be  your best bet.
  • Tinted windows. Almost always, white vinyl is going to look best on tinted windows.  You may be able to add a light colored logo, but dark colors will usually be lost.
  • Frosted windows.  A window that has been frosted, will appear much lighter.  You can generally put darker colors and black on the window when this is the case.  Notice the picture included with this post, black text is used, and a color logo is easily seen.  If white had been used, it would have been lost against the light background.

Remember, window graphics may be the only real signage you can customize in a shared business environment.  Make it as easy as possible for your customers (and new potential customers) to find you!
